Lee Barter

​

Lee is Tamarack’s CEO and Co-founder.  He is a mining supply chain nomad and enthusiast for sticky problems and big picture solutions.

​

Lee has over 20 years’ experience as a global procurement and supply chain leader. He previously spent 16 years as a consultant and Partner at Deloitte, serving in various leadership roles, including Americas Sourcing and Procurement Leader, Energy & Resources Industry Leader for Deloitte Chile, and Supply Chain practice leader for Deloitte Canada. Lee also worked as a sourcing and procurement specialist for Irving Oil Ltd.

Lee has delivered sourcing and procurement programs that have generated over $1b in cost savings while working with senior and junior mining companies on six continents. Lee has deep experience in global mining supply markets across all facets of sourcing and operations. Lee speaks and publishes widely on procurement topics in such outlets as the Globe & Mail, Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal. He holds B.Sc (Biology) and B.A. (Economics) degrees from the University of New Brunswick.

 

When not at Tamarack’s helm, Lee is building community around youth and sport, or sharpening his trivia skills while doing deep dives on how, where and why things are made.
